SCHOLARSHIP   PROGRAM   2025   APPLICATION   FORM
(FOR   A   STUDENT   OF   INDIAN   ORIGIN)

This 2025 HIA Scholarship ($2,000) is for a local student of Indian origin from the Madison City School System. 

Eligibility Criteria

HIA Scholarship for a Local Student of Indian Origin:

1. Must be a graduating senior in the class of 2025.
2. Home schooled students would also be eligible.
3. Must be of Indian origin.
4. Parent(s) must be HIA members.
5. Resume.
6. Essay: In 400-500 words describe how Ancient India has impacted the Modern World. This category represents 30% of the overall score.
7. Essay: In 400-500 words describe your community involvement. Must demonstrate the ‘service-before-self’ core value. Must demonstrate the ‘service-before-self’ core value.
   1. This category represents 35% of the overall score.
   2. The student’s impact on the local community will be evaluated based on the length of service, position(s) held and specific contributions.
8. Must demonstrate academic excellence.
9. This category represents 35% of the overall score. Please include your GPA (Weighted); ACT/SAT scores in your resume.

Final Review
The final review will be conducted by the HIA Scholarship Selection Committee. 

​Important Dates

1. Last date of applications: April 11, 2025.
2. Screening and review process will be finished by: April 21, 2025, and applicants will be notified by email.
3. Scholarship awardees will be felicitated on the stage during the HIA 2025 Diwali celebration (date to be announced) and/or during Awards Day of the concerned school.
